MOTION NO. 1

MOTION: Councillor E. Ó Broin

Cathaoirleach's Business:

That this Committee agrees that the Council should fully fund the Halloween events organised by the North Clondalkin Community Safety Forum.

REPORT:

The North Clondalkin Community Safety Forum annually hosts a series of events for young people to celebrate Halloween.  This work is been continually supported by the Council.

Planning for the 2014 festival is at an advanced stage and it is planned to include some new initiatives in this years programme. Significant efforts are continuing to be made to maximise the available resources and to identify additional resources to assist in the overall cost of the celebrations.

Following further recent contact with the Forum it is anticipated that a draft final costing will be agreed shortly which will provide a further level of support to the Forum in the delivery of this years programme.  It is also proposed to arrange as soon as possible thereafter for an early review of the new elements of the programme in order to assess their contribution to the celebrations.
