QUESTION NO.3
QUESTION: Councillor B. Leech
"To ask the Chief Executive, due to the serious number of racist related attacks and serious anti-social behaviour are there any plans to install security cameras in McUilliam estate?"
REPLY:
There are currently six CCTV units located within the MacUilliam Estate, five of which are located in the MUGA area and one on MacUilliam Parade. There are no plans at present to install any further cameras in this location.
A total of sixteen incidents of anti social behaviour have been reported in the MacUilliam Estate so far this year, which is more or less the same as was the case last year. We received two complaints of an alleged racist nature in September, one of which is currently being investigated and the other was of a general nature.
The Councils Estate Officer works very closely with the residents of Mac Uilliam and reports that there is a very vibrant new community in place there.
