                                                       Report on Graffiti in the Templeogue Terenure Rathfarnham Area

Following a commitment given at the September ACM, graffiti in the Templeogue Terenure Rathfarnham area has been examined in detail.  During 2014 to date graffiti in 229 public locations has been reported Countywide.  Of the 229 locations, 98 fall within the Templeogue Terenure Rathfarnham area and of the 98 locations where graffiti has been reported in the area 30 have now been resolved.  The remainder are due to be attended to during the coming weeks.  In accordance with a Memorandum of Understanding reached with the ESB earlier in the year, graffiti on an ESB utility box at one location has been referred to the ESB for attention.  It is hoped that a similar MoU can be reached in the near future with other utility companies with regard to graffiti removal.  In addition to the above the litter warden for the area is pursuing the owners of private property to carry out graffiti removal where it affects private property.  The attached report gives details of all 98 graffiti locations reported in 2014 to date, showing those which have been dealt with and those yet to be resolved.
