QUESTION NO. 10
QUESTION: Councillor B. Ferron
"To ask the Chief Executive if he is aware that a garage is operating out of *Address supplied* and a large number of Vehicles are being parked outside on the road causing a nuisance to residents as a result. I visited the area recently and there was half a dozen cars and a tow truck parked there as well as many scrap parts in the garden. Is it possible for an inspection to take place and if required a letter of compliance to be issued to this tenant telling him that is not appropriate to carry on such a business from a council owned house and that he should cease?"
REPLY:
A complaint was received by the Council on the 15th July 2014 regarding the alleged operation of a car repair type business from a house (address supplied) without the benefit of planning permission. An Informal Warning Letter was issued to the owner/occupier on the 17th July 2014.
A Warning Letter under the Planning & Development Act 2000 (as amended) issued to the owner/occupier on the 28th July 2014. No submissions were received. The complaint remains under investigation.
