QUESTION NO. 7
QUESTION: Councillor P. Gogarty
To ask the Chief Executive to report on the estimated cost of reinstating funding for traffic calming measures for three roads and three estates in each electoral area in this year's budget; and if he will make a statement on the matter?
REPLY:
The Council provided a sum of €350000 as part of the capital programme for this purpose in 2014 in County as a whole which means a total of €58000 in each of the 6 electoral areas of the County. To date a total of some €138000 has been spent across the County on ramps and pedestrian facilities at agreed priority and safety locations. Members in each area have been requested to supply additional locations for ramps with the priority agreed by local area committee.
