MOTION: Councillor F.N. Duffy

That South Dublin County Council does not support the development of a national waste incinerator in the Dublin Docklands and Poolbeg peninsula. 

REPORT:

Members received a report on the proposed Dublin Waste to Energy Project and notification under Section 138 Local Government Act 2001 from the Chief Executive on Friday 5th September 2014.

The implementation of the Dublin Regional Waste Management Plan is an executive function and thus any notices put before the Council under section 138 of the 2001 Act cannot be vetoed by the members when it relates to matters which require to be done under the Waste Management Plan.
