REPLY:

Following the relocation of the weight restriction on Kennelsfort Road meetings have been held with the An Garda Síochána Traffic Corp to continue enforcement.

Monitoring of the restriction is ongoing by CCTV traffic cameras and information is relayed to the Garda authorities outlining local representations.

Warning signs have been installed on the Palmerston By-Pass and additional warning signs will soon be provided on approach to the Adamstown Road restriction.

An Garda Síochána report that they can now issue on-the-spot fines for noncompliance with weight restrictions.

The Council will work closely with An Garda Síochána to assist in supporting as appropriate with their task in policing of the weight restrictions. The matter of fines and convictions will be discussed with the Garda Authorities. A detailed report will be provided to the next area committee.
