QUESTION: Councillor D. O'Brien

"To ask the Chief Executive to provide a report to the Committee on the proposed upgrade of the 12th Lock Bridge and surrounding roads including maps of works agreed and an update on the application for funding?"

REPLY:

The Part 8 for the Adamstown Road Improvement Scheme (incorporating the upgrade of the 12th Lock Bridge) was approved by the Council Members in December 2102.  Applications for funding for land acquisition and construction have not been successful to date, and it seems unlikely at this point that the necessary funding will be secured for 2015.  The extents of the CPO will be determined by the major service requirements for the area, which are being examined at present.  Subject to the foregoing, the CPO may be published in 2015, but it is not possible at this point to predict when funding for land acquisition and construction will be provided.
