QUESTION: Councillor W. Lavelle

"To ask the Chief Executive for an update on this Council’s engagement with NAMA regarding the request to secure open access points to the rear of the Coolamber site at Finnstown; and to seek an update from NAMA on their plans for this site?"

REPLY:

An inspection of the site of the former Coolamber House by the Council’s Dangerous Places Inspector revealed that the site was accessible at one location. As it was believed that the site was in the control of NAMA, Enforcement and Licensing Section successfully made contact with the relevant person in that organisation, who advised that the site had been sold at the end of August. Contact has been established with a representative of the purchaser who has agreed to secure the site to prevent access within the next week.
