MOTION NO. 12
MOTION: Councillor B. Bonner
Given the difficulties being experienced by residents in Floraville, St Anthony's Avenue and other parts of Clondalkin at school opening and closing times, by parents dropping off and collecting children obstructing driveways and damaging grass verges and obstructing the school entrance by illegal parking, could the Chief Executive present a report on what can be done to address this problem.
REPORT:
Measures currently in place comprise
Floraville Avenue: Double yellow lines at junction of Floraville Avenue and the Cul de Sac leading to the school. There is also a no Parking sign together with a single yellow line opposite the houses.
St Anthony's Avenue: There are existing double yellow lines on both sides of St Anthony's Avenue at its junction with Convent Road. This location has been examined on a number of occasions however, no parking issue was evident at the times of inspection.
Parking on grass verges and obstructing driveways or entances are offences under the road traffic acts. Enforcement is a matter for the Gardai.
