QUESTION NO.33
QUESTION: Councillor D. O'Donovan
To ask the Chief Executive how many requests for dog fouling and Neighbourhood Watch signs have been received by the Council for the past three years and how many such signs have been erected?
REPLY:
The four Dublin Local Authorities joined forces over the summer to urge dog owners to leave only their paw prints behind after taking their dog for walks and currently Anti - Dog Fouling signs are being erected.
It is expected that 500 of these signs will be visible throughout the county by 2015.
According to the Environment Complaints system there were 26 requests for dog foul signs in 2014. Social Credits received 25 expressions of interest when a pilot scheme was ran between September 2013 and March 2014 (community agreed to erect the signs), and there are 52 requests for the new signage which was recently launched.
In total there is record of 103 requests for the erection of Dod Fouling signs.
