QUESTION NO.37
QUESTION: Councillor L. O'Toole
Considering the amount of submission received on Local Property Tax was extremely low and it doesn’t represent the general public opinion in South Dublin County Council could the CEO confirm the cost involved of running this Public Consultation (Submission process)
REPLY:
Advertising costs totalling €1,784 were incurred for the LPT Public Consultation.
The remaining costs for the process related to staff time involved in arranging the advertising and managing and reporting submissions. An online submission tool was designed and implemented to provide the public with an accessible, user friendly interface. This was an inhouse software development and as well as supporting the recent process it will be available to deliver future efficiency savings. The staff time required to initiate and manage the process has not been costed as it was not extensive.
