QUESTION: Councillor B. Bonner

To ask the Chief Executive for an update on the untended and overgrown grass verge on the road from The Ninth Lock road to Bawnogue, the section from the lights to the Black Path.

REPLY:

The section of road has been examined. The lands in question are in private ownership and are mounded from the road kerb back into the site. The Council, as a Roads Authority, has powers under the Roads Acts to deal with private lands adjacent to public roads. The matter is being referred to the Land Use and Transportation Dept. for further examination and action as appropriate.
