MOTION NO.11

MOTION: Councillor E. Higgins

That the Chief Executive present a report on parking in Rathcoole, Co. Dublin, with particular reference to parking along the Fitzmaurice Road opposite Avoca, in estates like Broadfield where cars park along greens and along main street where cars illegally park at the take aways next to Tesco, and that the report address what provisions could be made to alleviate this. 

REPORT:

Fitzmaurice Road is wide enough to accommodate the parking of cars on the southern side between the entrance to Avoca and Beechwood Lawns where space for 25 cars could be provided. This would require the remarking of the road and relocating the white line along the middle of the road. This would narrow the traffic lanes and would slow down traffic on this busy road.  The area adjacent to the Tesco entrance is within the pay and display area of Rathcoole and any information in relation to specific illegal parking should be forwarded to the Land Use Planning and Transportation Department for the attention of the Councils traffic warden.
