COMHAIRLE CONTAE ÁTHA CLIATH THEAS
SOUTH DUBLIN COUNTY COUNCIL
MEETING OF RATHFARNHAM/TEMPLEOGUE-TERENURE AREA COMMITTEE

QUESTION NO. 34
QUESTION: Councillor Fintan Warfield
"To ask the Chief Executive have South Dublin County Council given consideration to the local proposal of a mini bus service for Greenhills residents, in the absence of an extended 123 Dublin Bus, to cater for individuals travelling to St. James' Hospital and Walkinstown?"
REPLY:
Dublin Bus have confirmed in recent correspondence that they "do not have any plans to extend the route 123 from its current terminus. Such an extension would require additional resources( i.e.buses and staff) to maintain its current frequency which in this difficult climate we do not have."
The Council does not have the resources and has no function in the provision of bus services.
