Report on Village Improvements Plan Projects

REPLY:

The Village Initiatives were commenced in 2013, initially based on a grant aided funding to local groups.   The Village Initiative has evolved in 2014 into a more focused program with capital works budgeted at circa €5,000.000.   The program seeks to develop a focused project within each identified village to maximise potential and engage with the following guiding themes -

Economically

Socially

Environmentally

The program evolved through SWAT (strengths, weaknessses, opportunities, threats) analysis, and local consultation, to the current stage where work has been completed or is underway on the majority of 11 actions identified, including a series of capital projects.   The capital projects proposed are now defined with clear  parameters, and sufficiently developed to be presented for approval in principle.  A presentation, outlining the scope of the projects developed for the electoral area, will be given at the ACM.
