QUESTION: Councillor Charlie O'Connor

"To ask the Chief Executive if he would update the committee on contacts with the local community in respect of the long standing request to extinguish the right of way and close the laneway to the rear of Raheen Close?"

REPLY:

There has been no recent formal or informal contacts between the Public Realm Section and local residents in relation to the extinguishment of the public right of way on the open space to the rear of Raheen Close. As the procedure to close an existing public right of way is set out in the Roads Act 1993, Section 73, any formal application in this regard, should be made in the first instance to the Council's Planning and Transportation Dept.
