QUESTION: Councillor Nicky Coules

"To ask the Chief Executive is road cleansing in the Jobstown area carried out directly by the Council, if not how are private contractors supervised?"

REPLY:

Road sweeping and associated litter picking in the County's housing estates and on main roads etc is carried out under contract by Oxigen Environmental Ltd on behalf of the Council.  The contractor's performance is monitored and supervised by the Environment, Water and Climate Change Dept.  Staff from the Council's own public realm maintenance depots in both Sean Walsh Park and Saggart also provide cleaning services on a scheduled basis in the Jobstown area.
