Cathaoirleach's Business

That this Area Committee congratulate the committee of Tallaght Community Council and all the Community Groups, Voluntary Organisations and others that were involved in Tallafest 2014, for making it such an enjoyable occasion and that the Manager will commit to promoting and sponsoring the event to ensure that it is sustainable and accessible to all, in coming years. 

REPORT:

The Council is very pleased to have the opportunity to once again acknowledge the success of "Tallafest - Town and Country Fair" and is happy to be in a position to support this initiative by Tallaght Community Council. Of course as with all successful events it is driven and aided by a team from a cross section of local community groups, national organisations, local businesses, dedicated volunteers and the Council. This year's event was held on  23rd August 2014 in Tallaght Village and was very well attended. 

The event - a free family festival celebrated the rich nature, history, arts and culture of Tallaght and comprised a broad range of activities including guided nature walks, scouts demos, workshops, history lectures, and a day full of live music

The Council will be pleased to be in a position to continue to support this very worthwhile community lead event.
