QUESTION NO. 18
QUESTION: Councillor Sarah Holland
"To ask the Chief Executive to repair the flashing that was recently repaired on Rathfarnham Castle gate lodge as it does not seem to have been finished to a very high standard?"
REPLY:
Rathfarnham Castle Lodge is a Protected Structure, RPS Ref. 212 (Schedule 2, South Dublin County Council Development Plan 2010-2016). The property is in private ownership and the work currently being undertaken was granted planning permission Reg. Ref. SD12B/0264 and by An Bord Pleanala under ref. No. PL 06S.241828.
The Council's Architectural Conservation Officer has carried out a number of site inspections since the commencement of the works on site. She has been satisfied at all times that the works are being carried out as per the planning permission granted and in accordance with the details provided in the conservation report adhering to good conservation practice. The Council's Architectural Conservation Officer will carry out another site inspection to inspect the flashing on the recently reinstated roof to the gate lodge and will discuss any issues with the conservation architect on site.
