QUESTION NO. 32

QUESTION: Councillor Charlie O'Connor

"To ask the Chief Executive if he would confirm that he has received a submission in respect of the BUS GATE at St Maelruains cemetery in Tallaght village; if he is considering the matter and if he would update the committee?"

REPLY:

The bus gate in question was installed in 2002 as part of the Tallaght Templeogue QBC scheme. It was installed with two specific aims in mind.

a) to displace the through traffic which was leading to extreme congestion in Tallaght Village

b) to ensure that public transport could efficiently access the village.

There are no proposals to remove it.
