QUESTION NO.15
QUESTION: Councillor Martina Genockey
To ask the Chief Executive to explore the possibility, in association with the staff, of introducing service level agreements for tenants needing repairs in their council homes whereby various repairs would be assigned a timeframe in which they should be carried out. This service level agreement would be then implemented when repairs are reported by tenants and agreed necessary by council staff.
REPLY:
When allocated a Council dwelling tenants sign a Tenancy Agreement which lists the items they are responsible for maintaining in that dwelling. These are generally non structural items as well as glass etc. Structural items are the responsibility of the Council. These items include roofs, heating, electrical, drain clearances, floods, leaks etc. The tenant is given a copy of their signed Tenancy Agreement at allocation stage
Each item of Council responsibility is categorised in relation to the severity of it repair and a time scale is indicated in relation to the response time in which we will repair it. This information can be found on the Council website @ www.sdcc.ie
Listed blow is a list of the various categories and timescales for work which is the responsibility of the Council
