QUESTION: Councillor C. King

To ask the Chief Executive to update the Council on whether or not funding has been acquired from the Government for the infill Housing projects that were highly publicised during the recent election campaign or is there any sign of funding coming to SDCC for this much needed housing?

REPLY:

The Council received budget approval for three projects from the Department and Environment and Local Government under the Job Stimulus Programme in June 2014. The three approved projects are as follows:

2 units at St. Finians’, Lucan, Co. Dublin
11 unit at Suncroft Drive, Tallaght, Dublin 24
3 units at Belgard Road, Tallaght,Dublin 24

Subject to the approval of the DOECLG the next stage of the project is to proceed to the tender as per the requirements set down under the Capital Works Management Framework issued by the Department of Finance. At the completion of a successful tender process a contractor will be appointed with work planned to commence this year and the units completed in 2015.
