QUESTION NO. 51
QUESTION: Councillor Fintan Warfield
To ask the Chief Executive In the last council term, a motion was passed, calling for the extension of the Dublin Bikes Scheme to the South Dublin County Council region. Can an update be provided as to the feasibility and progress of this issue?
REPLY:
South Dublin County Council and Dun Laoghaire Rathdown County Council received funding from the National Transport Authority (NTA) to prepare a joint feasibility study examining the possibility of introducing a Public Bike Hire Scheme in central Tallaght and central Dun Laoghaire. The study is for a smaller scale stand-alone scheme for each central area (i.e. Tallaght and Dun Laoghaire) rather than an extension of the existing Dublin city-centre based Scheme. The feasibility study is completed and the report is currently being finalised. Members will be kept informed of progress.
