QUESTION NO.24

QUESTION: Councillor C. King

"To ask the Chief Executive to provide details of how many people are carrying out Council duties as part of the "Gateway" scheme and in what areas of work, can the Manager also indicate whether or not they were required to carry out those duties during the industrial action measures initiated and carried out by IMPACT on behalf of SDCC staff".

REPLY:

The Council currently employ 5 number participants under the Gateway Scheme who are involved in general maintenance works of an environmental nature. They are currently working on general maintenance within the confines of Tallaght Leisure Centre. The participants currently work 19.5 hours per week as per the terms of the scheme, Monday and Tuesday 8.00am to 16.45 AND Wednesday 8.00am to 11.00am.

As industrial action took place on a Tuesday the Gateway Participants were rostered to work on an alternative day.
