QUESTION: Councillor M. Devine

"To ask the  Manager to update the lighting at the green area between CastlePark and the main road?. The present  few lamposts give poor /weak light in an area much frequented by residents from surrounding estates?"

REPLY:

Public lighting at Castle Park is provided on roads and around the side of houses. Incidentally some of the footpaths in the green areas are lit as they pass close to these lights. The roads entering the estate are fully lit and provide appropriate access. Footpaths in the park offer alternative access but in hours of darkness pedestrians can use various other roads which are less secluded and it is not necessary to provide additional lighting.
