QUESTION NO. 1

QUESTION: Councillor W. Lavelle

"To ask the Manager for a detailed report on options to develop the lands between Droim na Coille and the Ballyowen Lane traveller accommodation; so as to address ongoing problems of dumping, anti-social behaviour and bonfires; and to further request removal of dumped rubbish on these lands to the back of the houses at Droim na Coille Avenue?"

REPLY:

Currently there are no proposals to develop the area.  We are, however, in the process of replacing the railings that allow people access to this area.  In addition, covert cctv camera will be installed in an effort to identify people engaging in anti social behaviour and dumping.

The long term use of this site is being examined currently and a report will be brought to the Area Committee meeting when complete
