QUESTION NO.6

QUESTION: Councillor P. Kearns

"To ask the manager to arrange to have the bin at the back of Bishop Galvin NS, at the roundabout beside Templeogue Lodge and Domville emptied on a more regular basis. This bin is frequently used by dog walkers to dispose of their doggy poo bags. However, when it is full people continue to put the bags beside the bin creating a health and safety issue for the children in the local estate and attending the school?"

REPLY:

The litter bin to the rear of  Bishop Galvin School is generally emptied and serviced on a daily basis. The bin may become full after bank holiday weekends or over periods such as Easter etc. but the Council's objective is to ensure that this bin is available for use by the public and dog owners etc. to the maximum extent possible. The servicing of this bin will therefore, be monitored in the comning weeks to ensure this objective is fully adhered to.
