QUESTION: Councillor M. Devine

"To ask the Manager can Procurement Dept provide information on amount of units within the Springfield Estate that have been purchased/leased by SDCC?"

REPLY:

As at 1/4/14, the Council has secured 9 properties under the Social Housing Leasing Initiative and 31 properties under the Rental Accommodation Scheme in the general Springfield area.

The Council is also the owner of 5 properties in the Springfield estate which are let to social tenants. 3 of these properties were transferred into Council stock by Dublin Corporation in 1997 as part of handover arrangements and the other 2 were acquired under Derelict Sites Legislation and a repossession following loan default.
