COMHAIRLE CONTAE ÁTHA CLIATH THEAS
SOUTH DUBLIN COUNTY COUNCIL
MEETING OF CLONDALKIN AREA COMMITTEE
Wednesday, April 16, 2014
MOTION NO. 9
MOTION: Councillor E. Ó Broin
This Committee agrees that the Council should provide stone name signs for the Boot Road and Rockfield Drive at the entrance to the estate and to provide signage to assist people locate the house numbers again at both entrances to the estate.
REPORT:
The Council does not provide name stones for housing estates. It has been the practice to facilitate residents associations where they have applied to place a name stone at the entrance to their estate subject to meeting certain criteria in relation to maintenance and insurances. If local residents wish to discuss the matter further, they should arrange to contact the local Public Realm Operations Manager who is based in Corkagh Park. In relation to house numbers it is not normal practise to identify house numbers on street signs particularly where road names are already identified at the start of the road. However, given the length and different directions associated with Rockfield Drive the matter will be examined and a report presented to the next TMM with a recommendation on same.
