MOTION NO. 23

MOTION: Councillor W. Lavelle

"That this Area Committee calls on the Manager to engage in a comprehensive pre-consultation process with residents in the Griffeen & Foxborough areas prior to any work commencing on preparation of a replacement for the Clonburris Local Area Plan; and further requests the Manager, in the short-term, to examine traffic and sustainable transport measures, which may be achieved through use of part of these lands, such as those proposed in my motion which was discussed at the March meeting of the Committee (under Roads business)."

REPORT:

It is the intention to begin a review of the 2008 Clonburris SDZ Planning Scheme and Local Area Plan by mid 2014 and this will involve a pre-draft public consultation with all interested parties. This process gives residents of the area an opportunity to input to the review process at an early stage.  A review of the LAP and SDZ will include analysis of how best to link existing and future development at Clonburris to the surrounding areas. The review process will be supported by the Lucan Access Study and will include assessment of traffic and sustainable transport measures, which will be developed in consultation with the National Transport Authority.
