QUESTION: Councillor E. Tuffy

To ask the Manager for an update on the public consultation process around the proposal to provide 2 Play Spaces in the Lucan EA in 2014?

REPLY:

The two locations for Play Spaces included in the 2014 Programme of the Five Year Play Space Programme in the Lucan Electoral Area are

·         Griffeen Avenue

·         Woodfarm Acres

The consultation exercise conducted at Woodfarm Acres was unclear and whilst it is not proposed to abandon the idea of this location other locations are being considered with local groups in the Palmerston area and these arose from the Woodfarm consultation.  If local agreement is forthcoming on another location in the Palmerston area a public meeting will be held to clarify the level of support and the Elected Members will be invited to this meeting.

No contact has been made with the Griffeen Avenue residents but it is proposed to undertaken this exercise shortly.
