MOTION: Councillor T. Delaney

That the Manager investigates the feasibility and public appetite to change Knockmeenagh Lane into a pedestrian/cycle route (lane length from cottages to Consolidated Pumps) 

REPORT:

In accordance with the briefing meeting held on the 19th June 2013 South Dublin County Council have progressed the National Transport Authority funded project that was granted to review movement networks within & around Clondalkin town centre. This review is currently underway and consultants have been appointed and are currently examining the transport networks in the Clondalkin area in relation to walking, cycling, public transport, vehicular, goods movement etc. Once completed the report will detail a number of options for movement in and around the town. The Knockmeenagh Lane area is part of the area being examined in the context of the study and the feasibility of various options will be explored including a pedestrian and cycle route.
