MOTION: Councillor T. Gilligan

That the Manager outlines proposals (in conjunction with Waterways Ireland or other bodies if needs be) to address the issue of the blocked drainage between the back of Cappaghmore and the canal

REPORT:

The Drainage Section have undertaken works on this surface water pipe which included the removal of a large amount of material which would have resulted in blockages, however a section of the pipe can not be accessed due to development and it would appear that this pipe maybe causing an issue.  The Drainage Section is currently looking at options to divert the pipe away from the blockage, further work is required to select the best route.  When the best route is selected the project will be placed into the surface water works programme and can be undertaken subject to funding being available.
