The following report was presented to the Lucan Area Committee Meeting of 25th February 2014.
Arising from a discussion on the matter it was proposed by Councillor G. O'Connell and AGREED that a report on the operation of the Fisheries in Corcaigh Park go forward to the full Council for its consideration.
The review of the unsuccessful tender is nearing completion and it is expected that it will be advertised in the coming weeks.

"That the Manager bring a report to the next meeting of the full Council on the operation of the Fisheries in Corcaigh Park and to include why there has been such a time lapse between the end of the previous contract and the issuing a new one, the level of stocks in the lakes and the level of use including the income to this Council from this facility in 2013."
REPORT:
The Management Licence for Camac Valley Caravan Park was awarded to BK Golf Management Ltd on 1st April 2013.
The tender process for the Management Licence for Camac Valley provided for the holder to manage, maintain and operate Corkagh Fishery where requested to do so by the Council. BK Golf management Ltd has been managing the Fishery since April 2013 in line with the Camac Valley Licence Agreement at the requirement of South Dublin County Council pending the outcome of a tender process specific to the Fishery operation.
The tender specific to the Fishery operation in Corkagh Park was published in November 2013. No tender applications were received in respect of the competition. Accordingly, BK Golf Management Ltd, continue to provide operational cover for the Fishery.
However, the tender for the operation of the Fishery will be reviewed and advertised again in March 2014.
The level of stocks in the lakes was estimated to be in the region of 21,000 in 2010, the type and size of fish varies considerably. The Council is not in receipt of fees paid for the use of the fishery."
