QUESTION NO. 1
QUESTION: Councillor A.M. Dermody
"To ask the Manager to assess the halting site off Stocking Avenue. I have a report that the occupiers of the last unit in that development has built on a type of lean-to at the side of his unit. This is not permitted and yet he has still not taken it down or been made to do so. Can you please investigate and report back and if there is found to be unlawful development that the appropriate enforcement action be taken?"
REPLY
The Traveller Accommodation Site at Stocking Hill is monitored by way of CCTV and by regular visits from a mobile caretaker. The Traveller Accommodation Unit is aware of the structure which is being used as a tool shed by the tenant. The Council has examined the shed and is satisfied that it is not being used as a living space. The Council will examine whether such a structure is permitted and if the shed is not permitted, the tenant will be requested to remove it.
