QUESTION NO. 3

QUESTION: Councillor A.M. Dermody

"To ask the Manager when is it intended that the wall at the entrance to Willbrook Lawn which was demolished recently by the Council because of the unsound nature of same is to be replaced.  Secondly and following on from my Motion asking the Manager to consider any replacement walls in this area be stonewalls and that there be an overall policy around replacement walls for the area over a period of years?"

REPLY:

The re-construction of the stone wall at the entrance to Willbrook Lawn is included in the list of construction works planned to be completed in the coming 4/5 weeks. However there is an ESB pole at this location which should be re-located before this work is commenced and the ESB will be contacted in this regard. With regard to replacement walls in the Willbrook, Whitechurch, and Ballyboden road areas it is the intention of the Council that these walls would be of random rubble stone construction using granite, which is generally the type of boundary wall historically found in this area.
