QUESTION NO. 8
QUESTION: Councillor D. Looney
To ask the Manager to provide a statement of policy on the frequency and quality of grass cutting in parks and open spaces under the charge of the Council, and to state how it is intended to meet the requirements in the months ahead?
REPLY:
The grass cutting programme for 2014 has recently commenced. Grass cutting for 2014 has been scheduled to take place at a frequency of once every two weeks for parks, open spaces and roadside margins and once per week for playing fields. It is expected that a higher standard of finish will be achieved this year because of the shorter interval between cuts. The grass cutting programme will also be complimented by other work programmes such as weed control, road margin maintenance and litter control which have also commenced.
