SOUTH DUBLIN COUNTY COUNCIL
MEETING OF LUCAN AREA COMMITTEE
Tuesday, March 25, 2014
MOTION NO. 14
MOTION: Councillor G. O'Connell
"To compliment Council Staff for the quick response and the removal on a Sunday of a large number of tyres that had been dumped in a back lane in Palmerston and to ask once again if the laneways can be cleaned and kept clean as they are in a deplorable state."
REPORT:
The positive comments are most welcomed and will be passed onto the staff involved with the works.
A laneway cleaning report for the Palmerstown Area is being presented at the Lucan ACM today. It is proposed that the maintenance work to be carried out in laneways will include litter removal, removal of fly-tipped waste and the removal or spraying of weeds as required. It is proposed to initially schedule cleanups to take place on a 6 week rotating cycle with a review of frequencies to occur after 3 months. Works will commence on the first week in April. Details of the programme will be added to the schedule management system.
A table indicating the laneways to be included in the programme is attached to this report.
