COMHAIRLE CONTAE ÁTHA CLIATH THEAS
SOUTH DUBLIN COUNTY COUNCIL
MEETING OF LUCAN AREA COMMITTEE
Tuesday, March 25, 2014
MOTION NO. 24
MOTION: Councillor E. Tuffy
"That this Committee notes that the ongoing hazardous problems with water, mud, overgrown vegetation persist on the steps and public footpath (along part of which are railings) leading from the Car Park owned by St Mary's Parish, Lucan down along Lucan Hill/Old Lucan Road to Lucan Village and the entrance to Sarsfield Park. This problem has been raised many times at Area Committee meetings, and inspections etc. carried out by Council staff. Nevertheless the problem and associated risks to pedestrians continue, so this Committee requests the Manager to have the Roads and Drainage Departments further investigate the source of the problem, and bring a report to the Committee which includes information on the intentions of the Council to remedy the problem."
REPORT:
The Area Engineer will arrange for the overgrowth adjacent to the path to be cut back. In addition, any soil and debris that has fallen and settled on the path surface will be cleared away. In the meantime, the area will be investigated to determine the source of the seeping water.
