MOTION NO. 3
MOTION: Councillor M. Corr
That the Manager indicates the number of homes in need of window replacement in the Tallaght South area, giving a breakdown of numbers falling within each grade, an average wait period for the replacement of windows within in each grade once a grade has been awarded and that the Manager makes a statement on the matter.
REPORT:
The window replacement programme commenced in 2010 and since then 718 houses countywide have had windows/doors replaced. 55% or 393 of these units have been in the Tallaght Area.
Currently there are 902 houses on the replacement programme, 760 of these are graded 5 and 77 have still to be graded. The grading in the Tallaght Area is as follows
Grade 5 | Grade 4 | Grade 3 | Grade 2 | Grade 1 |
399 | 7 | 15 | 16 | 3 |
The budget for window replacement in 2014 is €950,000 and anticipated number of replacements countywide is in the region of 160. Based on previous year's figures it is anticipated approximately half of these will be in the Tallaght Area.
It is not possible to give a waiting period as windows are replaced according to date of application provided the applicants rent account is in order and they are not involved in anti-social behaviour. The Council is currently dealing with application graded in 2010 and it should also be noted that priority is given for serious medical cases.
