DIRECTLY-ELECTED MAYOR FOR DUBLIN

REPLY:  The Mayor, Councillor D. Looney has in accordance with Standing Order No. 4 called a Special Meeting of the Council.

Standing Order No. 4 states, inter alia, that "A Special Meeting of the Council may be convened at any time by The Mayor/An Méara or if the office of The Mayor/An Méara is vacant or The Mayor/An Méara is unable to act, by The Deputy-Mayor/An Leas-Mhéara, or by The Mayor/An Méara on foot of a request in writing presented to him or her by any five Members."
