MOTION NO. 7

MOTION: Councillor T. Delaney

That this Committee supports the request by both Clondalkin Tidy Towns  & Active Retirement for some seating/benches to be provided at strategic locations throughout the village

REPORT:

The Villages Initiative includes the development of a strategy plan for public-realm in each of the 9 villages.  A framework-tender for seating, litter bins and bollards is under preparation for the delivery of a consistent standard of public furniture.  The Villages Initiative centres on a consultation process which has been proceeding successfully with the Tidy Towns / Heritage Groups in Clondalkin.  Suggestions for the location of the seating requested can be forwarded to Architects Department for early evaluation and agreement.  Locations should take into account impact of seats on adjoining properties, anti-social behaviour and other relevant criteria.
