QUESTION NO. 1

QUESTION: Councillor A.M. Dermody

"To ask the Manager to inspect the rear windows of **Address supplied to assess whether or not same ought to be included in the windows replacement programme.  The tenant states that Senator Cait Keane in 2009 had the front windows and doors replaced and says that there are rooms to the rear of the house that cannot be used as the rooms are too cold because of the windows?"

REPLY:

The rear windows of the house in question were replaced in March 2010. These windows were inspected by the window contractor on 7th March 2014 and found to be in good condition.  The tenant informed the contractor that she was satisfied with the rear windows.  One window did require adjustment, which was carried out by the contractor during his inspection.  Her problem is with the front windows, which have been graded as requiring replacement and are on the replacement programme since 2011.  It should be noted that windows are replaced in date order of application.  Housing Maintenance are currently working on windows that were received and graded in 2010.  The front windows in this house will be replaced when their turn on the list is reached but it is not possible to give a time frame for this work.
