MOTION: Councillor J. Lahart

"That the Rathfarnham Area Committee support the WEB Project, Ballyboden in its efforts to continue to provide a top class social service to the people of Ballyboden and surrounding areas."

REPORT:

South Dublin County Council Community Services Dept are represented on the Board of Management of this Community Development Project. This Project has been funded for a number of years via the Community Services Programme (Central Government funding from the Dept of Social Protection) which is administered by Pobal. The Board of Management received communication from Pobal within the last few weeks that this funding will be discontinued from December 2014. The Board of Management have duly contacted Pobal and are now in process of submitting an appeal to attempt to get this decision reviewed and overturned.
