MEETING OF LUCAN AREA COMMITTEE

Tuesday, February 25, 2014

QUESTION NO. 18

QUESTION: Councillor W. Lavelle

"To ask the Manager to install wooden bollards at Esker Drive (opposite and adjacent to the entrance to Lucan Community College) and at Canonbrook Avenue so as to act as a further deterrent to unsafe schooltime parking and to prevent the ongoing and repeated damage to the grass verges; as requested previously by this Committee, by residents and as discussed at a recent onsite meeting with representative of Lucan Community College Parents Association?"

REPLY:

We are currently in the process of installing double yellow lines outside the school as agreed to at the onsite meeting referred to. If these are not successful in preventing damage caused by unsafe parking we will consider further improvements such as bollards subject to funding availability. It should be noted it was also agreed at the onsite meeting that SDCC are agreeable to attend a meeting if set up by LCCPA with the BOM and VEC to discuss the overall mobility plans for the school.
