MOTION NO. 4

MOTION: Councillor C. King

"That this Committee calls on the Manager to arrange for an audit of the outdoor lighting at St Dominic's Response project with a view to improving the security of the building and the safety of service users and staff". 

REPORT:

The Council's Roads Department has reported that three public lights on the laneway which runs alongside the Centre had been out of order, but have now been repaired. The provision of  any additional lighting at the building or in the common areas around it would be the responsibility of St. Dominic's Community Response Project and St. Mary's Boxing Club who are accommodated in an adjoining building. Both parties are in occupation for several years but have yet to formalise agreements with the Council. The matter will be pursued with both parties in consultation with the Council's Community Department with a view to regularising the position in relation to these lands.
