MEETING OF LUCAN AREA COMMITTEE

QUESTION NO. 16

QUESTION: Councillor E. Tuffy

"To ask the Manager if he can give an updated Reply to Question No. 12 on the Agenda of the Lucan Area Committee of 23rd April 2013 regarding the possible causes of water logged back gardens in Tullyhall Green, Lucan and if he can make a statement on any measures taken by the Council to identify the cause of the water logging?"

REPLY:

The Drainage section inspected the area and carried out the following works:
The adjacent stream and outlet to the stream were cleaned out.
The back gardens are above the level of the roads so back flow from road drainage does not appear to be the issue, also the development area which is not finished was inspected and no evidence was found that this was causing a problem.

In summary works were carried out in cleaning the adjacent stream and surface water out let but we can not say if this was the cause of the water logged back gardens in Tullyhall Green.
