SOUTH DUBLIN COUNTY COUNCIL
MEETING OF CLONDALKIN AREA COMMITTEE

MOTION NO. 14
MOTION: Councillor T. Gilligan
That this Committee agrees to install a number of Pull-up bars in Corkagh park, as part of some exercise equipment. People are forced to use the children's playground in order to do pull-up exercises.
REPORT:
The provision of the outdoor exercise equipment in eleven parks throughout the county has proven to be very successful as evidenced by the amount of activity and use by people of all ages. The range of equipment provided was chosen because it enables a combination of toning, flexing and strengthening exercises to be undertaken by the user. There are no plans at present to increase the range of equipment.
With reference to Corkagh Playground, the equipment has been designed and installed for children to play on. There are no pull-up bars in Corkagh Playground. The equipment is not designed as exercise equipment and should not be used for such activities.
