MOTION NO. 8
MOTION: Councillor E. Ó Broin
This meeting agrees that the Manager should write to the Department of Social Protection and the HSE requesting that for the purposes of all social welfare and community welfare office services Meile an Rí, Tor an Rí and Buirg on Rí should be considered to fall within the catchment area of the North Clondalkin Health Centre in Rowlagh rather than the Health Centre in Lucan Village; the letter should outline the practical reasons for such a move including the lack of public transport links between Balgaddy and Lucan Village, the community links between Balgaddy and North Clondalkin; and the value in aligning both the SDCC and the Social Protection/CWO administrative boundaries of north Clondalkin;
REPORT:
If the Motion is passed the matter will be referred to the Department of Social Protection and the HSE for their attention and when a reply is received the Committee will be notified accordingly.
